Meet the owner, Leandro Castroviejo
Greetings, I’m Leandro Castroviejo, a 48-year-old mechanical engineer who came to the United States from Brazil 22 years ago with the intention of staying for a couple of years to learn English and then returning home. Initially, as I had no knowledge of English, I took up a newspaper delivery job and worked as a handyman at various homes to earn money while pursuing my language learning goal. After a year or so, while still attending free ESL schools, I began working as a laborer for another construction company. As time passed, I worked for the same firm for 13 years, eventually becoming a superintendent in the last five years. During this time, I graduated with a diploma in English as a second language from Canada College in Redwood City and had four American children. After gaining much experience and knowledge, I decided to open my own construction company, and after nine years of running it, along with my own martial arts academy, The Gracie Brazilian Jiu Jitsu in Redwood City, we have successfully delivered multiple custom homes and remodels, commercial buildings such as hair salons, restaurants, and even a medical lab.
